LABORATORY OF FEM STRUCTURAL CALCULATION

mes_en.png

The FEM Structural Calculation Laboratory is equipped with 16 Dell workstations connected in a LAN network and a multimedia projector. As part of the didactic classes in the above-mentioned lab students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of Rzeszow University of Technology are given classes in the following subjects:

- Fundamentals of FEM,

- Mathematics − numerical methods.

From the Fundamentals of MES subject, students acquire knowledge in the following areas:

- principles of modeling, creating finite element meshes;

- principles of data processing and analysis of FEM calculation results;

- FEM modeling and analysis of bar, beam, flat and selected spatial models.

The above tasks are performed using ADINA software, which is characterized by high accuracy of numerical calculations.

The outcome of education in the Fundamentals of FEM course is the ability to conduct basic analyses using FEM of linear structural strength issues.

During the laboratory classes in the subject of Mathematics − numerical methods, students perform tasks related to, among others:

- procedures that implement basic operations on vectors and matrices,

- procedures for linear and quadratic interpolation of discrete functions,

- Root search procedures for algebraic nonlinear equations,

- numerical integration procedures.

The above tasks are carried out with the use of, among other things, the PYTHON development environment.

The outcome of education in the subject Mathematics - numerical methods is the ability to create algorithms and computational programs for solving systems of linear equations, basic methods of interpolation, function approximation and solving nonlinear equations as well as calculating the definite integral.

Software available in the laboratory:

  • ADINA 9.6.3
  • ANSYS 2020 R1
  • DEFORM v12.0.2
