The machining and cutting tools laboratory is equipped with a set of modern cutting tools from the largest manufacturers in the world (SANDVIK Coromant, Sumitomo, Kennametal). The laboratory is used to educate students and carry out engineering and master's theses in the design of cutting tools and the selection of tools and cutting parameters. In the laboratory, students learn about the construction and classification of cutting tools and the principles of selecting technological parameters. In addition, they learn the basic processes of subtractive machining, such as: turning, milling, drilling, threading, countersinking, reaming, grinding of shafts, holes and planes and sharpening of cutting tools. The laboratory conducts didactic classes and diploma theses in the field of:
- construction and geometry of cutting tools,
- cutting tools classification,
- selection of tools and machining parameters,
- influence of technological parameters on the course and result of the cutting process,
- basics of turning, milling, drilling, threading, countersinking, reaming, grinding of shafts, holes and planes.

In addition, the laboratory is equipped with conventional machine tools for the presentation of machining processes. The laboratory equipment includes:
- projector,
- a set of modern cutting tools including: turning knives, cutters, drills, taps, countersinks, tooling, clamping systems,
- conventional lathe,
- universal milling machine,
- tool milling machine,
- pillar drill,
- grinder for shafts and holes,
- surface grinder,
- multi-functional grinding and sharpening machine.
Thanks to modern laboratory equipment, students have the opportunity to learn about the latest in the world solutions in the field of cutting tools and clamping systems.
The laboratory is air-conditioned and equipped with a multimedia projector.
